Metal finishing - Tyngsborough, MA
Parts go out coated, measured and packed.
One vendor for powder, zinc, electroless nickel and passivation, with the film thickness written on the packing list and a three-to-five-day standard turnaround. Finishing in Tyngsborough since 2003.

Four processes, one building
Which means one purchase order, one delivery, and nobody blaming the other vendor when a finish fails.
-
Powder coating
Batch, rack and monorail lines. Over 180 powders on the shelf in gloss, satin, matte and texture, laid down at 2.0 to 4.0 mil and measured on every load.
-
Zinc plating
Trivalent clear and yellow to a 0.0003 in. minimum, RoHS compliant, with hydrogen embrittlement relief when the print calls for it.
-
Electroless nickel
Mid-phosphorus, six to nine percent, 0.0002 to 0.0010 in. Even in blind holes and on threads, where a rack line simply cannot reach.
-
Passivation and chem film
ASTM A967 nitric and citric on stainless, MIL-DTL-5541 conversion coating on aluminum, both verified on a coupon before the parts ship.
What fits through here
The four numbers people ask for before anything else.
- Largest part
20 ft long by 6 ft wide by 7 ft high, up to 1,500 lb on a hook.
- Batch oven
22 x 8 x 8 ft, 450 deg F maximum, with the cure profile recorded for every load that goes through it.
- Lines
Batch and rack for big work, a monorail line for volume, and a basket line for small parts and fasteners.
- Plating tanks
Zinc, electroless nickel and passivation, with DI rinse and on-site waste treatment, not a drum out back.
Bigger than that, send dimensions. The 8 x 8 ft oven door and the 1,500 lb hook rating are the two limits that decide it.
- 3-5 days
- standard turnaround, dock to dock
- 48 h
- rush lane, with room held on the line every week
- 180+
- powders on the shelf before anyone orders one
- 20 ft
- longest part the batch oven will take
What buyers and engineers tell us (sample quotes)
★★★★★
We send sixty part numbers a month and get them back on the day they said, with the film thickness written on the packing list. My last coater guessed. Coppermill measures.
★★★★★
They spotted that our bracket had a bearing bore that had to stay bare, masked it without being asked twice, and the parts dropped straight into assembly. Nobody had to ream a hole out by hand.
★★★★★
Salt spray came back at a thousand hours with no creep from the scribe, and they sent the coupon photographs with the report. I forwarded it to our customer and that ended a very long argument.
Ask about a color we do not stock.
Custom matches are routine here. Send a coated part, a chip or a RAL number and we will spray a panel before we touch your parts.
